InspectaMate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

InspectaMate is operated by GoInspect Pty Ltd (ABN 83 617 630 814). In this policy, “InspectaMate”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to GoInspect Pty Ltd. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit inspectamate.com, contact us or use the InspectaMate application.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use InspectaMate, we may collect:

  • Contact and account details, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, position and login details.
  • Enquiry and billing information, such as information you provide in a contact or trial form, subscription information, invoices and support messages.
  • Inspection information entered into the app, including project and property details, inspection notes, defects, photographs, annotations, reports, trade assignments and any personal details included in those records.
  • Technical information needed to operate and protect the website and app, such as device and browser details, IP address, login activity and error information.
  • Connected calendar information, if you choose to connect Google Calendar or Microsoft Calendar, as described below.

Inspection photographs and reports may contain personal information. Users should include only the information needed for their inspection work.

How we collect and hold information

We collect information when you submit a form, create or use an account, upload inspection content, connect a calendar or contact us. A customer or another authorised user may also enter information about you into InspectaMate.

The app can hold inspection data on your device while you work offline and sync it when you reconnect. We also hold information in cloud systems hosted using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

How we use information

We use personal information to provide and support InspectaMate, manage accounts and subscriptions, create reports, provide optional calendar features, maintain security, fix problems, respond to enquiries and meet legal obligations.

If you do not provide information needed for an account or a particular feature, we may be unable to provide that account or feature.

Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar integrations

You can choose to connect a Google Calendar or Microsoft Calendar account to InspectaMate. Connecting a calendar is optional and is not required to use InspectaMate’s other features.

Information accessed and stored

When you connect a calendar, InspectaMate may receive and store:

  • The email address or account identifier associated with the connected account;
  • Access and refresh tokens used to maintain the connection;
  • The identifier of the calendar you select;
  • Information entered into InspectaMate for an inspection-related event, such as its title, date, time, location and description;
  • The event identifier returned by Google or Microsoft; and
  • Technical records needed to maintain or troubleshoot the connection.

Google and Microsoft show the permissions requested by InspectaMate when you connect your account. Those permissions may allow broader calendar access than InspectaMate currently uses.

InspectaMate currently uses the connection to create inspection-related calendar entries and update entries created or linked by InspectaMate. It does not currently retrieve, import, scan, analyse or display your existing or unrelated calendar entries.

How calendar information is used

We use connected calendar information to create an inspection-related entry at your direction, update an entry created or linked by InspectaMate when inspection details change, maintain the connection and resolve problems with the integration.

We do not use information received from Google Calendar or Microsoft Calendar for advertising, marketing profiles, credit assessment or purposes unrelated to providing or improving the calendar integration. We do not sell that information to data brokers or information resellers, or use it to develop, improve or train general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Calendar storage and security

We may store connection tokens, account and calendar identifiers, event identifiers and related technical records while the connection remains active or for as long as reasonably needed to provide and support the integration.

We take reasonable steps to protect this information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. InspectaMate does not receive or store your Google or Microsoft account password.

Calendar sharing and disclosure

We exchange calendar information with Google or Microsoft as needed to carry out the calendar actions you request. Service providers that help us host, operate, secure or support InspectaMate may process connected calendar information on our behalf. We may also disclose information with your consent or where required or permitted by law. We do not otherwise share information received from your connected calendar with other InspectaMate customers.

An inspection-related event created in your calendar will be visible to anyone who has access to that calendar under your Google or Microsoft calendar-sharing settings.

Disconnecting and deleting calendar information

You can revoke InspectaMate’s access through the connected-app settings of your Google or Microsoft account. If InspectaMate provides a disconnect option in the app, you can also use that option to remove the connection.

After access is revoked or the connection is removed, InspectaMate will no longer be able to use that connection to access or change your calendar. Events already created in your calendar may remain there until you delete them through Google or Microsoft.

When a connection is removed, we delete or disable its access and refresh tokens. We delete or de-identify associated identifiers and technical records when they are no longer reasonably needed, subject to applicable legal, security, backup and record-keeping requirements. Inspection information you entered into InspectaMate, including details also used in a calendar event, may remain in your inspection records under the retention terms in this policy.

You can request deletion of connected calendar information by emailing hi@inspectamate.com.

Google API Services User Data Policy

InspectaMate’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Who can access or receive information

Customers decide which authorised users can access their inspection projects and who receives reports they generate or share. Reports and exported records may contain information entered into the app.

We may share information with service providers that help us host, operate, secure and support InspectaMate, and where required or permitted by law. We do not sell personal information.

If your details appear in an inspection record created by one of our customers, that customer may be best placed to answer questions about why the information was recorded or to correct it. You can still contact us for assistance.

Overseas disclosure

We use AWS to host InspectaMate in its Asia Pacific (Sydney) region, ap-southeast-2, in Australia. This describes the AWS region used for our hosting; it does not mean that every service provider or every processing activity is located in Australia.

Information may be processed or accessed outside Australia where a service provider supports InspectaMate, or when you choose to connect a service such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Calendar. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information disclosed to overseas service providers.

Cookies and device storage

InspectaMate may use cookies or similar browser storage to support sign-in, security and app settings. Its offline feature also stores inspection data on your device until it is synced or removed.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking those needed for sign-in may affect how the app works.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

We keep information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to applicable requirements. Data held offline on your device may remain there until you remove it or clear the app’s local data.

Connected calendar information is also subject to the disconnection and deletion practices described above.

Access and correction

You can request access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing hi@inspectamate.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If we cannot fulfil your request, we will explain why, subject to applicable law.

For information entered into an inspection by a customer, we may need to refer your request to that customer.

Marketing

If we send marketing emails, you can opt out using the instructions in the email or by contacting hi@inspectamate.com. We may still send messages needed to administer your account or provide the service.

Privacy complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, email hi@inspectamate.com with details of your concern. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or privacy practices change. The current version and its last updated date will appear on this page.
